Power of Attorney
A Power of Attorney allows you to appoint an Agent to act on your behalf. You can choose to only allow the Power of Attorney to go into effect upon your incapacity by choosing a "springing" power of attorney or you can choose to have the Power of Attorney to go into effect immediately. The powers included in a Power of Attorney are broad and sweeping and allow your Agent to do anything that you could do if you were physically present, including banking and signing documents.
